You will never have to feel like "too much" or "not enough" in my office.

Hey there, I'm Erika!

Are you exhausted from overthinking, people-pleasing, and trying to keep it all together? After so long being the strong one for everyone else, you may not even know what you need anymore. You are not broken, weak, or “too sensitive” and you don’t have to do this alone. I want to help you no longer feel quite so stuck, to be less overwhelmed, and to have better boundaries and healthier relationships. Being grounded and more in control of your emotions is a goal we can work on together - and you will never have to feel like "too much" or "not enough" in my office.

Life can be overwhelming and feel hopeless at times, and it can be difficult to reach out for help when that happens. You've taken the first step in working on the problems that can make life feel even more difficult than it already is, and I respect the courage it takes to begin the process of getting into therapy. No matter what challenges you face, I want to create a therapeutic space for you to feel comfortable being your full and true self, processing difficult emotions, and feeling supported, understood, and empowered.

We can work through questions about identity, peer relationships, co-parenting struggles, forming healthy boundaries and relationships, family issues, trauma, childhood trauma, blended family struggles, depression, personality disorders, addiction grief, burnout, self-esteem and self-worth issues, life transitions, conflict, non-traditional relationship building, and a variety of other questions that come up throughout life. No matter what struggle you face, you don't have to go through it alone.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Florida in 2013, and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2022. I am finishing up full licensure requirements as a registered mental health counseling intern. I specialize in several different modalities and tools depending on the issues we face together, but some of them include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Gottman-informed techniques for couples, Strengths-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Intervention, Attachment-focused work, Narrative Therapy, grounding techniques, self-compassion work, communication skills, and a variety of other methods as appropriate. I value building authentic, trusting, genuine relationships with my clients. I strive to meet you where you are and create a space where you can feel truly seen and understood.

If you have tried therapy before and not felt fully understood - or maybe are nervous about trying therapy for the first time - please come see me! You will have someone in your corner who genuinely cares and is invested in helping you move forward. I look forward to meeting you!
